Has Henry Winkler been stood up by Patrick Mahomes for a dinner date?
The actor who played the uber-cool ‘Fonz’ in classic TV series Happy Days says he has been left hanging by the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback after the two met prior to a game last year.
“I think he fibbed to me,” Winkler said of Mahomes, according to TMZ.
Prior to a game in 2022 between Mahomes’ Chiefs and the Chargers in Los Angeles, the two-time NFL MVP met with Winkler and presented him with a personalized jersey.
“I appreciate you coming,” Mahomes told Winkler, who replied at the time, “I’m so happy to be here.”
As the conversation continued, Mahomes said, “I’m going to take you up on that dinner, though.”
Winkler happily replied, “Absolutely, there is always a seat at my table for you.”
A year later, the invitation remains fulfilled, but the actor remains optimistic.
“He will have a great chicken,” Winkler told TMZ.
For what it’s worth, Mahomes is a very busy person. He won the Super Bowl earlier this year and welcomed a newborn son with wife Brittany.
Will he be able to find the time for dinner with the acting legend after this season ends? Maybe, if he’s not too busy jetsetting with teammate Travis Kelce and the superstar tight-end’s girlfriend Taylor Swift.
